Live Event Production

Oversee BTN Student U broadcasts/Illinois streaming broadcasts
Oversee staffing, recruiting, and training students for Big Ten Plus broadcasts and Fighting Illini live events.
Maintaining broadcast equipment, production switcher, fiber conversion equipment, cameras, audio equipment and graphics hardware.
Develops long-range plans for reporting for on air-talent for Big Ten Plus/Student U broadcasts
Oversee Big Ten Network Big Ten Plus broadcast budget
Record all live broadcasts for archival purposes
Serve as a Big Ten Network, Big Ten Plus liaison
Supervision

Supervise producers, directors, announcers and other broadcast personnel related to Big Ten plus broadcasts
Supervise and assist in development of on air talent; including researching and suggestion of story lines for broadcasts.
Post Production

Collaborating with Video Services staff in all operational functions
Assist in video board presentations for Illinois Athletic Events.
Conceptualizing and implementing video scoreboard production animation and still graphics, features and activities displayed during home games where there is a LED display; fulfilling media, institution and internal requests for footage; coordinating, managing and cataloging, video archives for each sports they are assigned.
Assist in special events held in DIA athletic venues such as concerts, convocations and commencement ceremonies
State Farm Center AV Specialist

Serve as the main contact for State Farm Center LED event display. This includes all promotional graphic and animation needed for non-athletic State Farm Center LED displays.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) of the following types of preparation:
A. progressively more responsible work experience in the production and presentation of radio or television programs, social media, and/or print or online journalism
B. vocational training in radio and/or television production, journalism, social media, news or feature writing and/or announcing or closely related fields
C. college course work in radio/television, journalism, social media, news or feature writing or closely related fields
- 60 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 75 semester hours equals one (1) year and six (6) months (18 months)
- 90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- 120 semester hours or a Bachelor’s degree equals three (3) years (36 months)

2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience in the production and presentation of radio or television programs, social media, and/or print or online journalism in addition to the preparation required in #1 above.

3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to that performed at the Media Writer/Producer/Announcer I level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

One or two years’ experience working with Big Ten Network (BTN) Student U broadcasts as a producer or director, or supervisor or quality control preferred.
Two years’ experience working in live television or comparable experience in athletic video board operation, production or direction at a professional or collegiate program
Two years of professional published editing experience in linear and non-linear formats, including Adobe premiere or Avid
Two years of professional experience with digital video, including format conversion for social media distribution
Two years of professional experience in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects or Avid
Above experience requirements can be served concurrently.
Two years’ experience working with one or more of the following; ESPN3, SEC Network, ESPN, FOX Sports, Big Ten Network (BTN) Student U broadcasts as a producer, director or supervisor preferred.

Demonstrate the ability to meet short deadlines, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
